Expert from CABP at the leading conference for CDO

The annual meeting was attended by over 200 Chief Data Officers and heads of analytics and data science from dozen of the most important European institutions and corporations, including banks, insurance companies, media corporations, airlines and government agencies.

Maciej Nawrocki, Chief Data Offcer of CABP led two discussion sessions:

1) "Protecting Against Regulatory and Security Risks" – devoted to the strategy of implementing regulatory projects;

2) 'Promoting the Transformational Opportunities and Decision making of Data & Analytics Projects' – regarding transformation of large organizations from the perspective of data and their analysis.

Both sessions, conducted by Maciej, were attended by several dozen people – mostly senior management responsible for data and analytics in large corporations. The main, widely commented conclusions of the conference, showing current trends, can be formulated as follows:

1. Over the next few years, strategies concerning the management and use of data will become the main strategies of the organization, ahead of sales and marketing strategies, which will themselves be included in the information management strategies.

2. Currently, CDOs are adapting their strategies to the business strategies of their companies. Soon this will change – CDOs will directly create company strategies.

3. Most CDOs in large companies are responsible for both data management and data analytics and are increasingly in the direct reporting line of the institution's management.

4. The CDO becomes an internal agent for organisational change ("D" like "disruptive").

5. Data quality is particularly important in view of upcoming AI innovations.
